Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Urijah Faber!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Elvis Blanc and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Faber on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Suez rushes Faber and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Faber blocks the elbow strike.
Suez misses with a knee strike.
Faber blocks an elbow strike from Suez.
Faber tries for a takedown but Suez manages to get underhooks.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Suez just misses with a elbow thrown towards Faber's brow.
Suez lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Suez misses with an elbow over the top.
Faber scores with a nice hook to the head.
Suez connects with a knee to the head.
Faber blocks an elbow strike.
With the fighters up against the cage, Suez throws an elbow but misses.
Suez stalls.

Suez turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Suez manages to end up in side control.
Suez is trying to ground and pound but Faber uses the momentary lack of control by Suez to regain half guard.

Faber is looking for a triangle but Suez pushes his legs off easily.

Suez got a little sloppy there for a moment and Faber has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Suez has managed to get both his arms back between Faber's legs - danger averted.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Faber is trying to control the position but Suez postures up.

Faber bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Suez's guard.

Suez had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Faber defends it easily.
Faber slips nicely into half guard.
Faber controlling the pace.

Suez is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Faber pulls his head out easily.

Faber is nestled in close to Suez, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Faber seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Suez does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Faber takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Faber wants to control but Suez is keeping him busy.
Suez is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Faber scores with a couple of nice shots.
Faber is keen to just control but Suez is a slippery customer.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Rafael Suez will probably get the nod.

Suez manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Faber on his heels. He'll look to pass Faber's guard now, I'm sure.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Suez thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Faber's head.

Suez wants to work for an arm triangle but Faber is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Faber wants to control but Suez is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Suez has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Suez throws some wild stikes that Faber manages to avoid easily.

Rafael Suez overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Suez is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Suez is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Faber defends it well.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Faber looking to sit in guard and control but Suez gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Suez stands and throws Faber's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Faber sneaks back into half guard.
Faber is looking for a sweep. Suez is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Suez is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Suez missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

Suez is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Faber doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Suez.

Faber tries to land a sweep but no joy.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Suez accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Urijah Faber has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Rafael Suez is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Suez slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Rafael Suez.

Suez throws a series of punches but Faber avoids them all with ease.
Suez lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Suez has closed the distance and engaged Faber in a clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Rafael Suez showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Suez has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
