Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tom Lloyd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stevie Reyes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lloyd comes to the cage accompanied by The Hives - Tick Tick Boom. Reyes comes into a darkened arena with his song building. All the Above kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tom Lloyd!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Stevie Reyes!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Winston Howard and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Lloyd is defended easily by Reyes.
Good standup being displayed there by Reyes as he connects with a hook.
Reyes moves into range and connects with a jab.

and Lloyd counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Lloyd.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Lloyd passes Reyes's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

and Reyes counters with a nice uppercut.

Reyes paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Reyes displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Lloyd.

Reyes throws a body punch but Lloyd moves out of range.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Reyes shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Lloyd eats them both and turns towards Reyes to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

A close second round but Stevie Reyes will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Reyes stalks Lloyd and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Lloyd's face. Lloyd staggers backwards, shaken.
Lloyd throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Reyes's waist but Reyes gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lloyd off to one side.

The fighters circling - Reyes throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Lloyd tries to clinch but Reyes moves away
and Reyes counters with a nice uppercut.
Reyes throws a combination. Lloyd tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Reyes throws a right and a left that Lloyd avoids nicely.
Lloyd fails in his attempt to clinch.
Reyes scores with a jab to the body.
Reyes stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Reyes wants it to stay on the feet.
Reyes's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Reyes duly obliges.

Lloyd shoots in looking for a takedown but Reyes manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Lloyd's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Lloyd fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Reyes sprawls well initially but Lloyd persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Reyes can do anything to dispel that myth.
