The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by TriX or perhaps it was just good defense by Rodrigues which made him look bad.

Rodrigues scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
TriX wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.
TriX tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Rodrigues wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
TriX tries to strike but it doesn't land.
Rodrigues wants to lay and pray for a moment but TriX keeps working.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
TriX is trying to get back to his feet.

Rodrigues works to advance to full mount. TriX defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

TriX postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Rodrigues has momentary wrist control but TriX slips an elbow through the middle.
TriX throws a strike but Rodrigues rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rodrigues avoids any damage from the ground and pound of TriX.
TriX throws an elbow but Rodrigues slips to the side and avoids it well.
TriX lands a nice forearm strike.

TriX in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Rodrigues looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! TriX turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!
