The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vito tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Gutierrez was well out of range. Poor timing from Vito.
Gutierrez tries for a takedown but Vito sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Cruz Vito seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Gutierrez has hold of Vito's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Vito manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Julio Gutierrez decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
