Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mario Bain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Albert Drake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Drake wants to clinch up but Bain keeps it at a distance.
Drake lands with a hook. Bain tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Drake pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Drake scores with a nice strike.
Drake throws a combination that misses
and Bain counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.

Bain ducks under a wild hook from Drake.
Drake throws a nice looking combination but Bain bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

No joy there for Bain, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Drake moves in looking to clinch but Bain pushes him off.
Bain drops his hands momentarily and Drake takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Drake throws a series of strikes that have Bain backpedaling.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Drake scores with a sloppy right hand. Bain should have avoided that one.
Drake tries to clinch there but Bain circles away.

Drake fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Bain on the side of the head.
Bain on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Bain throws a leg kick but Drake moved away.
Sloppy strikes from Drake. Those never looked like landing.
Drake shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bain as he jumps to the side.
Bain drops his hands momentarily and Drake takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Drake shoots for a double leg takedown but Bain sprawls well. He's pushed Drake's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Drake jabs Bain to the body, keeping him at a distance.

Drake might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Drake tries to clinch but Bain is having none of it.

Bain gets tackled into the cage by Drake. Drake maintains the clinch.

Drake pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Bain. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Bain walks into a stiff left hand from Drake.

Drake lands a big head kick that sends Bain tumbling to the mat! Drake takes a step backwards and waves Bain back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Bain is rocked!
Drake shoots in looking for a takedown but Bain manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Drake's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Bain's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Drake is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Drake uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Bain has time to react.

Bain decides to pull guard.
Bain pulls Drake in close to prevent any damage.
Drake tries to stand but Bain is controlling from the bottom.
Bain will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Drake drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Bain manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Drake has Bain in his guard.
Bain passes into half guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Drake tries to get to full guard but Bain has control of the leg.
Bain seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Drake throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Bain takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Drake wants to improve his position but Bain is controlling well.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Drake can do anything to dispel that myth.
