PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Michael Hinton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Pain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pain has chosen Linkin Park - No more sorrow as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Max Pain!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Hugh Johnson and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pain pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A head kick misses from Hinton.
Hinton will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Pain gets a clinch.
Pain wants a takedown.
Pain swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Pain goes for a takedown attempt but Hinton pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Hinton slips a jab and a cross from Pain.
Hinton shoots in but no luck this time.
Pain is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Pain has closed the distance and engaged Hinton in a clinch.
Hinton drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Pain gets the underhooks and prevents it.

and Pain counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Pain.

Hinton wants to break free but Pain has control.

Pain has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Hinton clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Pain is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Hinton defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Hinton looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

Hinton manages to escape to a better position under a series of strikes. Pain is now in side control.

Pain has hold of Hinton's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Hinton manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Pain cracks Hinton with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Pain sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Pain misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Pain is landing with some decent strikes but Hinton is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Pain throws some wild stikes that Hinton manages to avoid easily.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Pain cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Hinton is bucking up trying to escape but Pain cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Pain has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Hinton's face.
Pain with shots to the head and body - Hinton looks very uncomfortable down there.
Pain tries to control but Hinton wriggling away.
The referee warns Hinton that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Pain postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Hinton looks a forlorn figure.
Pain lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Pain throwing strikes but Hinton bucks up and reverses the position. He's now in guard on top.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Max Pain showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Pain changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hinton looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Max Pain comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Pain winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Max Pain decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
