PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Arthur Vengrio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Steel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vengrio comes into the arena with Muay Thai blaring out of the sound system. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Arthur Vengrio!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jim Steel!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Sosuke Kotani and Yukihiro Shimada.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vengrio looks to score with a jab to the body but Steel is just out of range.
Steel staying out of range there.
Vengrio lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Steel circles away quickly and effectively.
Vengrio misses with an attempted mid kick.

Steel closes the distance and pushes Vengrio back into the cage.
Vengrio scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Vengrio is struggling to control the position.
Still in the clinch, Vengrio scores with a nice short uppercut.
Steel drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Vengrio gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Vengrio tries a knee to the head but Steel blocks it.

Vengrio drops Steel with a big knee straight up the middle! Steel is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!

It looks like Jim Steel has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Vengrio ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Steel moves away.
Steel scoring well with a low kick there.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Vengrio throws an overhand right that lands on Steel's shoulder, as Steel tries to avoid the shot.
Vengrio scores with a nice head shot.
Vengrio pounces like a tiger and cracks Steel with a vicious hook! Steel is down but not out! Vengrio follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Arthur Vengrio!
