The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ling Wei throws a left and a right that both miss

and Elliot counters with a takedown into side control.
Ling Wei might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Elliot works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Ling Wei is letting Elliot control him for a moment.
Elliot landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Ling Wei is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Elliot has just dragged him back down to the mat.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ling Wei is looking to reverse the position.
Elliot is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Ling Wei's shoulder. That is not cool.

Elliot cracks Ling Wei with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Elliot cracks Ling Wei with a big right hand but Ling Wei just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Ling Wei knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Elliot on the ground.
Ling Wei is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Elliot asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Elliot scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Ling Wei to see if he's OK.

Ling Wei is rocked!

It looks like Chen Ling Wei has been cut.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ling Wei is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Elliot asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Ling Wei tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Elliot wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Ling Wei takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Elliot in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Oh Ling Wei is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

You can see the frustration on Ling Wei's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Elliot connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Ling Wei some visible discomfort.

Ling Wei takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Elliot is trying to get an arm triangle but Ling Wei is defending well.

Let's hope that Elliot has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Elliot has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Elliot is looking to take a break and control but Ling Wei is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Ling Wei get stunned by a cross and takes another one on the button. Ling Wei stumbles backwards and tries to bounce back off the cage but Elliot runs in and jumps on him with a leaping lead hook that puts him out! Wow, that was highlight reel stuff! Awesome finish!
