Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hugh Honey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Athan Stamatis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Honey comes into the arena with Cruising in Miami by Bass 305 blaring out of the sound system. Stamatis has chosen Lose Yourself as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stamatis lands a nice shot to the body.
Honey takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Stamatis throws out a loose jab but Honey uses good head movement to avoid it.
Honey scores with a leg kick.
Stamatis thows a body shot but no joy.
Honey closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Stamatis did well to prevent Honey getting side control.

Stamatis got a little sloppy there for a moment and Honey has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Stamatis has managed to get both his arms back between Honey's legs - danger averted.

Stamatis throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Stamatis lands with a hook. Honey tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Stamatis dives in and grabs Honey's left leg, looking for a takedown. Honey pushes down on Stamatis's head and hops out.

Honey shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Stamatis is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Honey has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Stamatis can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Stamatis drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Stamatis jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Honey is in trouble now - Stamatis has advanced to mount!
Stamatis lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Stamatis postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Honey looks a forlorn figure.
Honey is rocked!
Stamatis has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Stamatis loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Honey scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Stamatis land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Stamatis stands and salutes the crowd.
