Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, John Frink!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Keith Ronald Kernspecht!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Shigeki Fujiwara and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kernspecht darts in and clinches Frink up against the cage.
Kernspecht dodges an elbow strike from Frink.
Kernspecht wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Frink pushes off an throws an elbow but Kernspecht leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Frink lands an elbow inside.


It looks like Keith Ronald Kernspecht has been cut.

Kernspecht's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Kernspecht swinging wildly here.
Kernspecht connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.


It looks like John Frink has been cut.
Kernspecht misses with a double jab.

Frink forces Kernspecht back against the cage and clinches.
Kernspecht has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Kernspecht tries to break the clinch but Frink is controlling the position.
Frink lands an elbow inside that Kernspecht shrugs off.
Frink misses with an elbow strike.
Kernspecht is trying to break the clinch but Frink is controlling him.
Kernspecht dodges an elbow strike from Frink.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Frink prevents Kernspecht from breaking the clinch.
Frink pushes off an throws an elbow but Kernspecht leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Frink works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Frink thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Frink wants to pass the guard but Kernspecht is keeping the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Frink won't allow Kernspecht to get back to his feet.
Kernspecht pulls Frink in close to his closed guard and prevents Frink from doing any damage or advancing position.
Frink trying to control but Kernspecht is working from the bottom.

Frink drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Frink jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kernspecht is on top in guard.
Frink wants to sweep but no luck.

Frink throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Kernspecht escapes and throws Frink's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Frink is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Kernspecht is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Frink is desperately trying to improve his position but Kernspecht has a good base and remains in mount.

Kernspecht is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

Frink clinches.
Frink creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Frink lands a nice elbow.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kernspecht avoids a wild elbow strike from Frink.
Frink creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Kernspecht's defenses.


That has opened up Keith Ronald Kernspecht's cut even more.
Kernspecht is trying to break free.
Frink gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Kernspecht wants to break the clinch but can't.
Frink lands an elbow inside that Kernspecht shrugs off.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Frink just misses with a elbow thrown towards Kernspecht's brow.
Kernspecht takes an elbow to the temple.
Kernspecht wants to break free but Frink has control.
Kernspecht dodges an elbow strike from Frink.
Kernspecht is looking to break free of the clinch but Frink has double underhooks.
Kernspecht tries to break the clinch but Frink is controlling the position.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Frink just misses with a elbow thrown towards Kernspecht's brow.
Kernspecht blocks the elbow strike.
Frink lands a nice elbow from the clinch.


The cut above Keith Ronald Kernspecht's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Kernspecht creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Frink's defenses.
Kernspecht takes an elbow to the temple.
Kernspecht wants to break the clinch but can't.
Frink comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.


Keith Ronald Kernspecht's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Keith Ronald Kernspecht's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). John Frink!
