Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mario Matiss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Morgernstern (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Matiss's entrance music is Ennio Morricone - The Ecstasy of Gold. A fine choice. The crowd seem to be enjoying Morgernstern's choice of entrance music: The Prodigy - Warrior`s dance. The key to victory for Mario Matiss has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Paul Gruel and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morgernstern does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Matiss ducks under a wild hook from Morgernstern.
Morgernstern avoids the head kick by Matiss.
Matiss throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Matiss throws a head kick that Morgernstern semi-blocks.
It looks like Matt Morgernstern has been cut.

Morgernstern darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Morgernstern wants to lay and pray for a moment but Matiss keeps working.

Morgernstern wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Matiss, who protects the arm well.

Matiss cracks the inside of Morgernstern's front leg.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Matiss lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Morgernstern has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Morgernstern and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Morgernstern drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Matiss dives on top into guard.
Morgernstern is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Matiss rolls with it to try and escape but Morgernstern cranks on the arm and Matiss is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Matt Morgernstern was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
