Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 28 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Anderson Cowell!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Seu Braga and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kharitonov throws the left hand but Cowell avoids the punch easily.
Kharitonov uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Cowell.
Anderson Cowell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A lazy left from Kharitonov finds it's target.
Cowell throws a body kick that misses.

Cowell is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Cowell tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Cowell has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Cowell goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Kharitonov has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Cowell but great work by Kharitonov.

Cowell is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kharitonov is just riding it out for now. Cowell eventually gives up the hold.

Cowell is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Kharitonov has managed to free his arm - good work.
Kharitonov knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cowell on the ground.
Cowell seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Kharitonov is refusing to be controlled, as Cowell sits in half guard.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Cowell will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Cowell throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kharitonov's waist but Kharitonov gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cowell off to one side.
Kharitonov tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Cowell manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Cowell misses with a wild combination.
Kharitonov misses with a few strikes there.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Cowell.

Kharitonov moves in looking to clinch but Cowell pushes him off.
