Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kai Gi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rafael Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kai Gi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rafael Rua!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rua blocks a head kick by Gi.
Rua misses with a body shot
and Gi cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Rua looks for the body kick but Gi saw that one coming.
A combination from Gi does no damage.
Rua throws a nice looking combination but Gi bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
A head kick misses from Rua.
Rua throws a sloppy head kick
and Gi counters with a head kick.
Gi dodges the punch combination from Rua.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rua throws a head kick but Gi moves out of range.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
A head kick misses from Rua.
Gi throws a right and a left that Rua avoids nicely.
Rua will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Rua misses with a leg kick
and Gi counters with a solid body kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gi tries a head kick but it misses.
Gi throws a sloppy head kick and Rua moves out of range easily.
Gi uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Rua.
Rua falls off balance throwing a combination
and as Rua loses concentration momentarily, Gi counters with a picture perfect head kick! Rua goes down, out cold! The referee rushed in to check on his condition - I'm sure he'll be ok but that was a massive knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Kai Gi!
