PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mikko Ruutu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wounded Monkey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ruutu has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monkey lands a head kick. Ruutu smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Monkey lands with a thumping leg kick.
Ruutu is breathing heavily.
Monkey chopping away at his opponent's legs.

Monkey closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Ruutu did well to prevent Monkey getting side control.

Ruutu is staying active underneath Monkey, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Monkey is nestled in close to Ruutu, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Monkey is working to tighten is grip on Ruutu's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Ruutu has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Monkey is really squeezing tight and eventually Ruutu passes out! Monkey breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
