Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yoshiro Gomi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alonzo Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Harris has chosen W.O.L.V.E.S as his entrance music. Yoshiro Gomi had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yoshiro Gomi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Alonzo Harris!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Hirohito Nitta and Yasuomi Hirokawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gomi gets a clinch.
Harris misses with a punch on the inside.
Gomi stalling in the clinch but Harris improves position.
Gomi lands a left hand.
Gomi misses with a punch to the body.
Gomi working aggressively here.
Gomi throws a punch but it's blocked by Harris.
Gomi can't find room to land a body shot as Harris controls the action.

Harris has clasped his hands together around Gomi's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Harris goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Gomi has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Harris but great work by Gomi.
Gomi throwing strikes but Harris manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
Gomi is trying to improve his position.
Harris trying to control the position but Gomi is working away.

Harris is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Gomi is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Gomi tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Harris wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Gomi stops Harris from passing to mount.

Harris swings around for an armbar but Gomi sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Harris's guard.
Gomi pushes down on Harris's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Gomi missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Harris is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Gomi is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Harris has a hand on Gomi's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Gomi takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Harris is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Harris tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Gomi can't control as he wanted to and Harris manages to get the fight back to his half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gomi trying to control from half guard but Harris is working away.
Gomi is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Harris is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Gomi wants to free his trapped foot but Harris is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Harris is pressing down on Gomi's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Gomi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Harris swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Harris wants to sweep but no luck.

Gomiis looking to pass into half guard but Harris pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Harris is in guard.

Gomi is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Gomi keeping moving, preventing Harris from controlling successfully.

Harris content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Gomi has locked up a guillotine! Gomi's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Harris is holding on here and Gomi must be using up a lot of energy. Harris has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Gomi gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

After the fight, Yoshiro Gomi was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
