Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sol Badguy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeff Gorden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sol Badguy has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sol Badguy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jeff Gorden!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Eliza Hachem and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gorden throws a body punch but Badguy moves out of range.
Gorden fails with a takedown attempt.

Gorden shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Badguy napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Badguy is looking to reverse the position.
Badguy is working hard here to advance position.
Gorden wants to take a breather but Badguy manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Gorden.
Gorden is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Badguy pulls Gorden in to control the position.

Gorden postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Gorden stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Badguy swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Badguy is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Badguy seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Badguy is not content to let Gorden control the position.

Gorden throws some wild stikes that Badguy manages to avoid easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Badguy is squirming around, avoiding Gorden's attempts to control the action.

Jeff Gorden showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Gorden shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Badguy pinned against the cage. Badguy gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Badguy lands a left and a right that send Gorden crashing to the mat, dazed. Badguy thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Gorden fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Gorden dives in and grabs Badguy's left leg, looking for a takedown. Badguy pushes down on Gorden's head and hops out.
Gorden takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Gorden shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Badguy defends it nicely.
Badguy throws a series of punches but Gorden avoids them all with ease.

Gorden shoots in looking for a takedown. Badguy tries to sprawl out of it but Gorden keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Badguy manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

letting Badguy counter with a right hand.
Jeff Gorden seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sloppy strikes from Badguy. Those never looked like landing.

Badguy fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gorden manages to avoid it.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gorden is defended easily by Badguy.

Gorden takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Gorden fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Sol Badguy has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

and Badguy connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Gorden tries for a takedown but Badguy circles away easily
and Badguy counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Badguy is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Gorden looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Badguy is fending him off so far but Gorden persists. Nope, Badguy circles away and we're back to standing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gorden shoots in for a double leg but Badguy sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Jeff Gorden is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Gorden shoots for a takedown but Badguy saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Sol Badguy showed his dominance in that final round.
