Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joseph Grants (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Naser Al Shami (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Summer Carpenter and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A momentary lapse in concentration from Grants enables Al Shami to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Grants manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Al Shami throws a big elbow that misses.

Grants is looking to stand up but Al Shami isn't so interested in that idea.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Al Shami accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Grants wants to get back to his feet but Al Shami is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Al Shami slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Al Shami throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Al Shami postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Grants takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Al Shami misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Al Shami advances to mount.
Al Shami thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round.

Al Shami fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Al Shami loads up with a big shot that hurts Grants! He's pulled Al Shami in close but Al Shami has postured up and lands more strikes. Can Grants survive? More strikes from Al Shami and Grants is out! The ref jumps in to save him! Brutal ground and pound!
