Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rob Gesus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ken Korymotto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Rob Gesus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ken Korymotto!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Jeff Smith and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Korymotto tries to clinch there but Gesus circles away.
Gesus looks to score with a jab to the body but Korymotto is just out of range.
Gesus shoots in but Korymotto avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Korymotto clinches with his opponent.
Korymotto goes for a takedown attempt but Gesus pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Korymotto shoots in looking for a takedown but Gesus manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Korymotto's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Gesus takes the fight into the clinch.

Gesus breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Gesus misses with a body kick.
Gesus looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Gesus rushes Korymotto and presses him up against the cage.
Gesus throws a punch but it's blocked by Korymotto.

Korymotto tries to pull guard but Gesus holds him up against the cage and eventually Korymotto drops back down to his feet.
Rob Gesus has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ken Korymotto.

Gesus manages to break the clinch.

Korymotto forces Gesus back against the cage and clinches.
Korymotto is pressed up against the cage. Gesus has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Korymotto down to the mat. Korymotto avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Nice takedown defense from Korymotto. No joy for Gesus on that attempt.

Gesus drops down looking for an ankle pick but Korymotto pulls his leg out and moves away.

Korymotto moves into range and clinches up with Gesus.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Korymotto changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Gesus fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Korymotto tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Gesus is able to avoid easily.
Gesus circles away from the clinch attempt.
No luck for Gesus with that takedown attempt.
Korymotto will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Gesus looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Korymotto is fending him off so far but Gesus persists. Nope, Korymotto circles away and we're back to standing.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Korymotto shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Gesus as he avoids it easily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Gesus shoots for a double leg takedown but Korymotto sprawls well. He's pushed Gesus's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Rob Gesus will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Gesus is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Korymotto is pushing down on Gesus's leg trying to pass to half guard. Gesus is fighting to maintain full guard but Korymotto has managed to sneak the leg through.

Ken Korymotto seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Rob Gesus.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Gesus, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
