Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Oakley Bark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brady Baird (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bark comes to the ring accompanied by RUN DMC its like that. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 31 - 15 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Oakley Bark!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 26 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Brady Baird!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Viktor Lagutenko and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baird's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Baird duly obliges.
Baird lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Baird throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Baird connects with a good right hand that stumbles Bark. Bark circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Baird fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Bark is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Baird.
Baird throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Baird motions for Bark to come forward. Baird throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Baird misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Bark will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Baird lands a nice leg kick that just misses Bark's sensitive parts.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bark shoots in for a double leg but Baird sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Baird gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Bark jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Baird walks away with a smile on his face. Bark gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Oakley Bark. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Baird throws a front kick aimed at Bark's knee but Bark avoids it well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Horrible takedown by Bark or perhaps it was just good defense by Baird which made him look bad.
Bark takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Baird throws a right hand that misses

and Bark decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Baird's guard.
Bark throws a big elbow that misses.
Bark trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Baird is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Baird has control of Bark's left arm, preventing Bark from doing any damage.
Bark advances to half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Bark lands with a punch from half guard.
Bark has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Bark wants to free his trapped foot but Baird is holding on for dear life with his legs.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Baird is staying active underneath Bark, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Bark wants to work for an arm triangle but Baird is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Bark throwing shots but Baird is blocking nicely.
Baird tries to kick Bark off but Bark keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Baird trying to control from the bottom.
Bark thows a huge punch but Baird dodges it nicely.
Bark wants to control but Baird is keeping him busy.
Bark lands strikes from half guard.
Bark passes to full mount!
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Baird is trying to escape the mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bark with shots to the head and body - Baird looks very uncomfortable down there.
Bark landing strikes from the mount.
The referee warns Baird that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Baird wants to use the ropes to get back to his feet here.

Bark goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Baird is on top in guard.
Baird throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Bark works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Bark tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Baird controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bark trying to keep a closed guard but Baird is proving a slippery customer.
Baird in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Bark is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Baird frees his head nicely. Oh but Bark has switched to an armbar! Baird is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
