PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vazren Rigogo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and King Kamehameha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rigogo's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Parapapapa. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kamehameha blocks a head kick by Rigogo.

Rigogo throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kamehameha was covering up waiting for the punch and Rigogo finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Rigogo wants to control but Kamehameha is keeping him busy.

Rigogo tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Rigogo has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Rigogo is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kamehameha defends it well.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Rigogo thows a huge punch but Kamehameha dodges it nicely.
Rigogo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kamehameha keeps working.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vazren Rigogo dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

It looks like Vazren Rigogo has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

No joy there for Kamehameha, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Rigogo throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Rigogo manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Kamehameha on his heels. He'll look to pass Kamehameha's guard now, I'm sure.
Rigogo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kamehameha swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Rigogo seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A combination from Kamehameha does no damage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rigogo bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rigogo is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kamehameha knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Rigogo decides to stand up, so the ref orders Kamehameha to his feet.

King Kamehameha is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Kamehameha needs to keep his hands up - Rigogo had a free shot at his head there.

Vazren Rigogo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rigogo closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Kamehameha to the mat! Kamehameha manages to get full guard.
Rigogo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kamehameha swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Kamehameha fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Rigogo has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
