Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Caio Gimenez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cody Funke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Funke comes into a darkened arena with his song building. never gonna stop kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Cody Funke has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Caio Gimenez's chin.

The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Jeff Smith and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Funke thows a body shot but no joy.
Gimenez defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Funke.
Funke looks to land a left hand but Gimenez moved out of range nicely.
Funke lands a really nice looking cross but Gimenez seems unphased.
Gimenez tries for a takedown but Funke sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Funke misses with a few strikes there.

Gimenez fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Funke has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Gimenez throws a lazy head kick
and Funke counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Gimenez misses with a series of wild punches.
Funke drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Gimenez is looking to wear down Funke with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Gimenez throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Funke fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Gimenez avoids it really well and circles away.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Gimenez closes the distance and clinches up with Funke, looking for a takedown. Gimenez pushes Funke against the cage but Funke circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Gimenez throws a head kick but Funke moves out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Gimenez's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Gimenez throws out a loose jab but Funke uses good head movement to avoid it.
Funke shoots in and gets a takedown into Gimenez's guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Funke postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Funke accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Funke tries to pass to full mount but Gimenez defends it.
Funke thows a huge punch but Gimenez dodges it nicely.

Gimenez working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Funke doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Gimenez is tightening it up a little... Funke has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Funke reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Funke taps out! Nice BJJ there by Gimenez!
