Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Quinton Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brock Edward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Quinton Jackson has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Quinton Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brock Edward!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, John Roberts and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Edward fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Jackson sprawls well initially but Edward persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Jackson looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Jackson is staying active underneath Edward, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Edward is thwarting Jackson's attempts to control the position.
Edward performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Edward trying to control from half guard but Jackson is working away.
Edward is looking to advance position but Jackson won't allow it.
Edward really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jackson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Edward is trying to control the action in half guard but Jackson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

Edward looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Edward trying to control the position from guard on top but Jackson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Edward is pushing down on Jackson's leg trying to pass to half guard. Jackson is fighting to maintain full guard but Edward has managed to sneak the leg through.

Edward decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Edward drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Edward trying to control but Jackson is working from the bottom.

Jackson lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Edward!
Edward gets back to half guard.
Jackson thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Edward looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Jackson stops Edward from getting back to his feet.
Edward is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Jackson scores with a couple of nice shots.
Jackson prevents Edward from standing back up.
Jackson working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Edward should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Edward is looking to escape.
Edward works his way to full guard. Good work.

Edward pushes Jackson off and scrambles back to his feet.

Edward closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Edward lands in his opponent's guard.
Edward stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jackson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Edward stands and steps away. Jackson gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Jackson shoots and misses

and Edward counters with a single leg into guard. Jackson didn't expect that.
Edward landing some decent shots from guard.

Edward decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Edward looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Jackson!

Edward moves to back control.
Jackson manages to reverse the position and now he's in Edward's guard. Nice work there by Jackson.

Edward wriggles free and stands up.
Jackson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
No joy there for Jackson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Edward pushes Jackson up against the cage in a clinch.

Edward escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Jackson misses with a takedown

and Edward decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Jackson's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brock Edward dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Jackson swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Edward counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Jackson looking for a sweep. Not yet Jackson, not yet.

Edward gets to his feet. Jackson looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Edward has Jackson up against the cage in a clinch.
Edward is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Edward has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Jackson clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Jackson tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Edward can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Jackson is looking to escape.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Edward is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Jackson can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Edward content just to control the position here.
Edward wants to control the pace but Jackson is squirming around nicely.

Edward wants to finish this one by submission but Jackson is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Edward.
Jackson is looking to improve his position but Edward isn't that keen on the idea.
Edward controlling from mount.
Jackson is in a horrible position here. Edward smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Edward controlling the pace for now.
Jackson looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!

Edward working for a choke but Jackson is defending well.
A lull in the action here.

Edward just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Will Edward go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Edward has the hooks in. Jackson is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Edward is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Edward gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Edward gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Edward apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Edward tries to clinch but Jackson is having none of it.
Quinton Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Edward will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Edward closes the distance and clinches.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Edward pulls guard.
Jackson lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Edward trying to keep a closed guard but Jackson is proving a slippery customer.
Jackson passes into half guard.
Edward tries to kick Jackson off but Jackson keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Jackson tries to stand but can't do so whilst Edward controls his leg.
Edward is controlling Jackson's trapped leg to prevent Jackson from advancing to side control.
Edward has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jackson is working away from the top position though.
Edward is trying to get back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brock Edward showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!



Edward decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Edward wants to control but Jackson is keeping him busy.
Jackson looks like he's trying to stand up.

Edward is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Jackson trying to get back to full guard but Edward takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
Jackson is bucking up trying to escape but Edward cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Edward lands with some strikes.
Edward blocks Jackson's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Edward cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Edward looking to control but Jackson is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Brock Edward has got the better of the ground game so far.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Edward is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Jackson can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Jackson slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Jackson manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Jackson looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Edward passes into side control.

Edward decides to stand back up. Edward steps back and let's Jackson get back to his feet.

Edward shoots in and bounces Jackson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Edward controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Jackson is trying to control the position but Edward postures up.
Edward controlling from the top position.
Edward trying to control but Jackson is working from the bottom.
Jackson striking off his back but it's not causing Edward any problems.
Edward wanted to stand there but Jackson had control of the position.
Edward trying to control the position from guard on top but Jackson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Edward shoots in and bounces Jackson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Jackson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Edward wants to pass the guard but Jackson is keeping the position.

Edward avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Edward stands and throws Jackson's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Quinton Jackson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Jackson is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Edward off and has taken his back!
Edward tries to roll but Jackson sticks to his back.

Edward is trying to defend against the choke here but Jackson has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Jackson Tightens the hold and Edward taps out furiously! Jackson displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
