The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Giant misses with a low kick.
Jab by Foley.
Giant bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Foley takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Giant lands a nice leg kick that just misses Foley's sensitive parts.
Giant dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Foley looks gassed!
Giant lands a jab to the head.

It looks like Mick Foley has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Giant connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Foley's hands.
Giant lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Giant misses with a double jab.
Giant moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

Giant feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Foley's calf.
Foley takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Foley on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Giant connects with a right hand. Foley shakes it off.

Giant looking to score a takedown here. Foley is defending well but Giant drives through and ends up in Foley's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Foley is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Humberto Giant.
Giant scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Foley takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.

A big head kick from Giant and Foley is sent sprawling to the canvas!

That has opened up Mick Foley's cut even more.
Giant throws a big elbow that misses.
Giant trying to control the position from guard on top but Foley is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Foley controls Giant momentarily but Giant frees himself.
Giant wants to control from the top but Foley keeps moving.
Giant chips away with some ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Giant's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Humberto Giant just wasn't active enough.
Giant shoots in for a takedown but Foley shows good takedown defense.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Giant looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Giant scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Foley is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Giant can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!

After winning the bout, Humberto Giant thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
