Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 4 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Robert Friedrich!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Bruno Lombardi and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Friedrich has his takedown stuffed

and Cocainich counters with a nice double leg into side control. Friedrich won't be happy with that.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Friedrich wants to control but Cocainich postures up.
Friedrich is looking to reverse the position.
The referee asks Cocainich politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Cocainich prefers to stall for the moment though.
Cocainich tries to advance to mount but Friedrich denies him.
Friedrich is looking to reverse the position.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Cocainich tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Friedrich defending against the ground and pound.
Cocainich remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Cocainich throws a strike aimed at the side of Friedrich's head but Friedrich avoids it well.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cocainich tries to move to mount but Friedrich blocks the move with his legs.

Cocainich looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cocainich advances to full mount.
Friedrich really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cocainich. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Cocainich is landing with some decent strikes but Friedrich is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.


It looks like Robert Friedrich has been cut.
A nice elbow there by Cocainich.


That has opened up Robert Friedrich's cut even more.

Cocainich is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Friedrich is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Friedrich flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Cocainich anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Friedrich and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Cocainich slips an arm under Friedrich chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Cocainich has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Cocainich is squeezing on Friedrich like an anaconda would it's prey. Friedrich fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Bariga Cocainich!
