PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jack Edgar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Misual Lalpa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Edgar comes to the cage accompanied by lovely bunch of coconuts. Lalpa has chosen Seek n Destroy as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Misual Lalpa!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Sam Margolis and Andrew Berry.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Edgar misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jack Edgar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Lalpa drives through and clinches with Edgar against the cage.
Edgar is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Edgar swings wildly with an uppercut but Lalpa uses good head movement to avoid it.

Edgar escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Lalpa shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Lalpa showed some decent athleticism there.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
It looks like Lalpa is going to stand back up.
Edgar is trying to stand.
Lalpa is trying to control the action in half guard but Edgar is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Lalpa prevents Edgar from standing back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lalpa is trying to control. Edgar wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Lalpa stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Edgar misses with a combination

so Lalpa counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Lalpa decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Lalpa scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Lalpa is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Edgar has escaped the position, nice work there.
Edgar knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lalpa on the ground.
Lalpa is looking to take a break and control but Edgar is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Lalpa has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Edgar misses with a body kick.
Lalpa blocks a head kick by Edgar.

Edgar drives through with a takedown into guard.
Edgar is breathing heavily.

Lalpa has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Edgar should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Lalpa has tightened it up now! Edgar should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
