The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Josh West and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kleinschmidt throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Thompson sees it coming and avoids it easily.
A slapping leg kick lands for Kleinschmidt.
Kleinschmidt cracks Thompson with a good jab.
It looks like Henry Thompson has been cut.
Thompson gets caught napping as Kleinschmidt dives in and scores a takedown. Thompson manages to retain guard.
Kleinschmidt postures up in Thompson's guard and throws a big left but Thompson blocks it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Thompson tries to buck Kleinschmidt off but Kleinschmidt is having none of it.
Kleinschmidt wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Thompson, who protects the arm well.

Kleinschmidt looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Thompson with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Thompson wants to control but Kleinschmidt is keeping busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Thompson slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Kleinschmidt counters with an inside leg kick.

Kleinschmidt motions for Thompson to come forward. Kleinschmidt throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Thompson stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Kleinschmidt.
Thompson chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Kleinschmidt can pounce on him.
Kleinschmidt tries to score a power double leg takedown but Thompson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kleinschmidt somewhat.

Kleinschmidt throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Kleinschmidt content to slow the pace in the clinch.

Henry Thompson's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

The fighters circle, before Kleinschmidt throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Thompson's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Kleinschmidt lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!

Elroy Kleinschmidt opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
