Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Chris Redfield (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richard Nixon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 10 - 1, fighting out of New York, Chris Redfield!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 15 - 0, fighting out of New York, Richard Nixon!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, David Schapiro and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Redfield closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Nixon to the mat! Nixon manages to get full guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Nixon is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Redfield trying to stand up but can't free himself from Nixon's guard.
Redfield controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Redfield working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Nixon is trying to keep Redfield in close.
Nixon is striking but Redfield is not phased and passes to half guard.

Nixon has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Redfield is working away from the top position though.
Redfield keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Nixon tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Nixon tries to roll over but Redfield keeps him under control.
Nixon is trying to stand.
Nixon wants to control but Redfield passes into side.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A lull in the action here as Redfield stalls from top position.

Nixon is trying to improve his position.
Redfield controlling the position.
You can see the frustration on Nixon's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Nixon might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Redfield kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Nixon tries to bench press Redfield off him but Redfield keeps the position.
Redfield takes a little break here. Nixon wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Redfield throwing strikes but Nixon manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
Redfield parries the strikes from Nixon easily there. Nixon is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Redfield to escape.
Redfield is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
You can see the frustration on Redfield's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Both fighters take a look at the clock.

Redfield avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Nixon.
Redfield knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Nixon on the ground.

Redfield is not content to let Nixon control the position.
Nixon tries to stand but Redfield is controlling his head.
Nixon tries to stand but Redfield controls the position and pulls Nixon into his guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Chris Redfield will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Nixon shoots for a double leg takedown but Redfield sprawls well. He's pushed Nixon's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Redfield fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Nixon, pushing him back against the cage.
Redfield putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Nixon in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.

It looks like Richard Nixon has been cut.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Redfield takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Redfield gets control of Nixon's arms and successfully pulls guard. Redfield will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Redfield's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Nixon wants to control from the top but Redfield keeps moving.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Richard Nixon wasn't active enough on the ground.

Redfield throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Redfield decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Nixon tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Redfield stands up and beckons Nixon to join him on the feet.
Nixon tries to close the distance and clinch but Redfield swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Redfield shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Nixon is trying to defend but Redfield finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Nixon is looking to control Redfield's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Nixon avoid being mounted?
Nixon throws a strike from the bottom but Redfield passes into side control!

Redfield is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Nixon is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Redfield really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Redfield postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Nixon tries to improve position but can't.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Chris Redfield overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Redfield keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Nixon's efforts to push away.

Redfield is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Nixon can do to turn this around?

Redfield swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Nixon is now in Redfield's guard. A big mistake from Redfield there, giving up the dominant position!

Well Redfield has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
