The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bashir misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Ryan avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
No luck for Bashir with that takedown attempt.
Bashir scores with a decent looking hook.
Bashir lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Ryan backs up against the ropes.
The fight stays on the outside here - Ryan looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Bashir shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ryan sprawls well. Ryan wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Bashir gets slowly back to his feet.
Jackson Ryan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mohamed Bashir.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Bashir manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ryan manages to get himself to full guard.
Bashir tries to free his leg and advance position but Ryan is retaining full guard.

Bashir postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Bashir avoids the attempt from Ryan to control.
Bashir lands a big elbow.

Bashir wants to finish this one by submission but Ryan is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Bashir.

Ryan is bucking up trying to escape but Bashir cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Bashir jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Ryan manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Bashir is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Ryan has managed to escape the submission attempt.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Bashir cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.

Bashir changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ryan tries to avoid it but Bashir manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ryan to the ground. Ryan escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Ryan takes one to the side of the head.
Bashir scores with a sloppy right hand. Ryan should have avoided that one.

Ryan closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Bashir moves into full guard.

Bashir looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ryan is one step ahead there.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bashir is on top in guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Bashir uses his free foot to push down on Ryan's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Ryan.

Bashir is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Ryan is surviving well by controlling Bashir's body position as best he can.

Bashir scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Bashir lands with an uppercut that bounces Ryan off the ropes and back into range.
Bashir shoots in looking for a takedown but Ryan manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Bashir's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Mohamed Bashir seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bashir throws a right and a left that Ryan avoids nicely.

Bashir shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Ryan eats them both and turns towards Bashir to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Bashir might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Ryan tries to move into range but Bashir moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Mohamed Bashir seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Bashir shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Ryan manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Bashir working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ryan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ryan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Bashir has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Bashir wants to control but Ryan is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Bashir looks to land a combination. Ryan sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
A punch lands to the side of Ryan 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Bashir shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Bashir was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Ryan tries to hold on but Bashir pushes him away.
Bashir lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Bashir goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Ryan is on top in guard.
Bashir is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Ryan is looking to take a break and control but Bashir is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Bashir is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Mohamed Bashir is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Well Bashir has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
