Mamajama comes to the cage accompanied by Who Let The Dogs Out. Bad Mamajama is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mamajama tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Edgar counters with an inside leg kick.
Edgar misses with a few strikes there.
Mamajama darts in trying to clinch
and Edgar counters with a leg kick.

and Edgar counters with a shoot takedown. Mamajama fights it but they end up in guard.

Edgar stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mamajama swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Edgar not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Mamajama avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Mamajama throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A big left from Edgar misses.
Edgar walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Bad Mamajama is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

and Edgar counters with a good low kick that Mamajama was not able to check.

and Edgar decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Mamajama's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Bad Mamajama.

Edgar walks into a left hand.
Mamajama takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Edgar throws a sloppy body shot
and Mamajama counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Mamajama closes the distance but Edgar moves to the side
and Edgar counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Mamajama misses the jab.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Edgar fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Mamajama.
Mamajama swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Edgar.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Frankie Edgar dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

and Edgar counters with a good, hard body kick but Mamajama shrugs it off.
Mamajama is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
The fighters circling - Mamajama throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Mamajama closes the distance looking to clinch
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Mamajama misses with a right hand
and Edgar counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Mamajama moves out of range of the body kick.
A nice leg kick lands there from Edgar.
Mamajama wants to clinch but Edgar slips to the side

and Edgar counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Mamajama's guard now.

Edgar has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Mamajama is proving hard to escape from.
Edgar is breathing heavily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mamajama is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Edgar frees his head nicely. Oh but Mamajama has switched to an armbar! Edgar is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
