Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vinny Magalhaes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luke Hobbs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Magalhaes comes to the cage accompanied by Tom Petty - I Won't Back Down. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Luke Hobbs was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hobbs decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hobbs escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Magalhaes gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Hobbs is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Magalhaes throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hobbs works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hobbs is on top in guard.

Magalhaes is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Hobbs postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Magalhaes looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Hobbs has picked Magalhaes up and slammed him! Magalhaes can't keep hold of the triangle and Hobbs manages to pass to side control!

Hobbs wants to control but Magalhaes is keeping him busy.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Hobbs cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Hobbs is standing up, even though he is in mount.
Hobbs throws a one two combo.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Hobbs lands a left and a right that send Magalhaes crashing to the mat, dazed. Hobbs thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hobbs closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Magalhaes did well to prevent Hobbs getting side control.
