Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anthony Villia!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bobo James!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Daniel Franklin and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James doesn't manage to clinch there - Villia circles away.
Villia shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has James pinned against the cage. James gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

James drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Villia is trying to control James's posture but James avoids it.
James works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
James scores with punches from side control.
Villia is trying to get back to half guard.

James is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Villia is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Villia is looking to regain half guard here but James keeps moving and retains side control.

James drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Villia manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now James has Villia in his guard.

James had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Villia defends it easily.
James is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Villia dives into side control.

Villia avoids the attempt from James to control.

Villia looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Villia throwing strikes but James bucks up and reverses the position. He's now in guard on top.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Villia really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Villia is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because James is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

James is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

James must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Villia has his foot on James's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. James works his way back into a safe position though.

Villia has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes James off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Villia shoots in looking for a takedown. James tries to sprawl out of it but Villia keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. James manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
James tries to close the distance and clinch up but Villia swats him away and circles back towards the center.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Bobo James will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Villia is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Horrible takedown by Villia or perhaps it was just good defense by James which made him look bad.

The fight stays on the outside here - James looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

James turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.
