PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between TJ Segurado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Segurado comes to the cage accompanied by No Rival. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Segurado swivels and escapes.
Segurado slaps away a takedown attempt from Thomas, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Thomas keeps the fight on the outside.

Thomas throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Segurado was covering up waiting for the punch and Thomas finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Thomas is pushing down on Segurado's leg trying to pass to half guard. Segurado is fighting to maintain full guard but Thomas has managed to sneak the leg through.
Segurado is trying to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Segurado avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Thomas.

Thomas wants to work for an arm triangle but Segurado is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Thomas wants to control but Segurado is keeping him busy.

Thomas stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Segurado swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Thomas drops back looking for a leg! Segurado is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Segurado manages to kick Thomas off! Thomas jumps back into Segurado's guard.

Thomas is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Thomas stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Segurado swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Thomas drops back looking for a leg! Segurado is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Segurado manages to kick Thomas off! Thomas jumps back into Segurado's guard.
Thomas is looking to work some ground and pound but Segurado has wrist control.

Segurado wants to hit a switch here but Thomas passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Segurado there!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Thomas drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Segurado gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Segurado drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Thomas dives on top into guard.

Thomas has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Segurado is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Thomas yanks on the arm and Segurado is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Thomas.
