The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dempsey lands a slapping body shot.
Dempsey moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Dempsey lands with a good body shot.
Dempsey throws a shot to the body.
Dir on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Dempsey fails to land with a series of punches.
Dempsey scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Dempsey lands a two punch combo.
Dir shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Dempsey as he avoids it easily.

Dir closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Dempsey can't do much from the bottom here.
Dir scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Dempsey to see if he's OK.
Dempsey tries to bench press Dir off him but Dir keeps the position.

Dempsey is trying to control Dir's posture but Dir avoids it.
Dir lands an elbow.
Dempsey avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Dir.
Dir cracks Dempsey with a big elbow.
Dempsey is looking for a sweep.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Dempsey holds on to Dir's head and controls the position momentarily.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Dir lands an elbow.
Dir lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Dempsey down.
Check out the look on Dir's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Dir slows the pace down.
Dir creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Dempsey sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Dempsey is looking for a sweep.

Dempsey is not content to let Dir control the position.
Dir in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Dir controls the position.
Dempsey sneaks back into half guard.
Dir wants to take a breather but Dempsey is having none of it.
Dempsey wants to control but Dir is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Dir is trying to control. Dempsey wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Haral Dir has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Dempsey throws a series of punches but Dir moves out of range.
Dir lands a brutal head kick. Dempsey looks out on his feet and Dir throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
