Bornstein comes to the cage accompanied by Men at Work - Land Down Under. Saballe has chosen In My City as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Salvador Saballe!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bornstein misses with a low kick.
Bornstein throws an overhand right that lands on Saballe's shoulder, as Saballe tries to avoid the shot.
Saballe blocks a jab.
Bornstein moves out of range of the body kick from Saballe.
Bornstein falls off balance throwing a combination

and Saballe counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Saballe.

The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Bornstein lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Saballe swings wildly with an uppercut but Bornstein uses good head movement to avoid it.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Bornstein creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Saballe is trying to maintain a safe position but Bornstein gets an underhook and turns Saballe into the cage.

Bornstein throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Bornstein struggles to land a body shot inside as Saballe controls his hands.
A frustrated look appears on Saballe's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Saballe lands with a right to the head.
Saballe is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Bornstein keeps control of Saballe as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Saballe is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Saballe takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Saballe throws a head kick that misses.
The fight stays on the outside here - Saballe looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Saballe misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Saballe checks a low kick from Bornstein.
Bornstein throws a right and a left that both miss.
Bornstein scores with a jab.

No joy there for Bornstein, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Bornstein lands a big uppercut and Saballe crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Saballe looks OK. Bornstein waves Saballe back to his feet!


Saballe is rocked!
Saballe is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Saballe is still on wobbly legs! Can Bornstein finish him?
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Saballe jabs Bornstein right on the nose. Bornstein blinks but takes it well.
A telegraphed right hand from Bornstein misses the target.
Saballe seems to have recovered his senses.
Saballe doesn't manage to clinch there - Bornstein circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Saballe digs a good body shot into Bornstein's ribs.

Bornstein shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Saballe eats them both and turns towards Bornstein to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Bornstein throws a shot from downtown. Saballe moves away and avoids it.
Bornstein lands a nice shot to the body.
Daley Bornstein seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Saballe takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Daley Bornstein is winning the standup battle so far.

Saballe gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Bornstein gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!

Daley Bornstein really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that [CBK] The Smashwear Corporation logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
