Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Karl Manhoff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Angus McZongo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McZongo has chosen Skiltron- Sword and Shield as his entrance music. Angus McZongo will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Manhoff tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
McZongo cracks a nice hook into Manhoff's ribs.
Manhoff goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Good leg kick by McZongo there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Manhoff is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
McZongo fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Manhoff is out of range.
McZongo scores with a sloppy right hand. Manhoff should have avoided that one.

It looks like Karl Manhoff has been cut.
Manhoff is looking to clinch.
Manhoff checks the leg kick nicely there.

Manhoff moves into the clinch.
Manhoff takes an elbow to the forehead.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Manhoff tries to pull guard but McZongo won't allow it.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
McZongo lands a left hand.
Manhoff has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. McZongo avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Manhoff is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Manhoff tries to throw a body punch but McZongo avoids it by throwing Manhoff back against the cage.

McZongo had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Manhoff defends it easily.
Manhoff is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

McZongo has an active guard here but Manhoff has managed to pass into half guard.

McZongo is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
McZongo trying to control from the bottom.
Manhoff seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
McZongo tries to roll over but Manhoff keeps him under control.
Manhoff is taking a breather. McZongo says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Manhoff clinches up against the cage.
McZongo is pressed up against the cage. Manhoff has hold of a leg and is looking to drag McZongo down to the mat. McZongo avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
McZongo wants to clinch.
McZongo will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Manhoff gets a double leg takedown into McZongo's guard.

Manhoff got a little sloppy there for a moment and McZongo has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Manhoff has managed to get both his arms back between McZongo's legs - danger averted.
Manhoff not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Manhoff is looking to clinch but McZongo is avoiding it.
Karl Manhoff seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Manhoff shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
McZongo scores with a crisp jab that stopped Manhoff in his tracks.

McZongo gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
McZongo lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Manhoff lands a nice uppercut.
Manhoff wants to take the fight to the mat but McZongo manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Manhoff shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says McZongo as he avoids it easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
McZongo looks to land a combination but Manhoff avoids it well.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

McZongo drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
McZongo in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Manhoff uses the cage to get back to his feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
McZongo throws a head kick that Manhoff semi-blocks.
McZongo tries a head kick but it misses.

Angus McZongo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

McZongo gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

McZongo isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Manhoff stacks McZongo on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Manhoff!
McZongo manages to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Manhoff perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Manhoff seems to be looking for submissions.

McZongo is trying to maintain the position but Manhoff is very close to passing his half guard.
Manhoff is trying to control. McZongo wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Karl Manhoff.
Manhoff takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Manhoff looking to score a takedown here. McZongo is defending well but Manhoff drives through and ends up in McZongo's guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Manhoff stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McZongo swivels though and keeps the full guard.
McZongo controls Manhoff momentarily but Manhoff frees himself.
McZongo looking for a sweep. Not yet McZongo, not yet.
Manhoff is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Karl Manhoff just wasn't active enough.

Manhoff shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Manhoff is taking a breather. McZongo says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Manhoff is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. McZongo doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Manhoff.
Angus McZongo is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Manhoff is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

McZongo regains full guard. Nicely done.

McZongo is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Manhoff is aware though and is defending well.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Manhoff passes McZongo's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Karl Manhoff has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Karl Manhoff overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
