Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nobunaga Oda!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ali Seyedi!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Elvis Blanc and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Oda is defended easily by Seyedi.
Oda takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Oda shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Seyedi pinned against the cage. Seyedi gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Seyedi lands with a nice body kick.
Oda shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Seyedi sprawls well. Seyedi wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Oda gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nobunaga Oda. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Seyedi sizes up Oda with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Oda will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Oda dives in and grabs Seyedi's left leg, looking for a takedown. Seyedi pushes down on Oda's head and hops out.
Seyedi pushes Oda away with a front kick.
Oda shoots in but no luck this time.
Oda is breathing heavily.
Seyedi lands a right hook to the body.
Seyedi buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Seyedi gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Seyedi lands with a short shot to the head.
Oda looking to throw knees to the head but Seyedi is blocking nicely.
Seyedi leaning against his opponent.
Seyedi landing some nice looking knees to the body.

Seyedi breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Seyedi moves into the clinch.
Seyedi unloads a knee to the mid-section.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Seyedi creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Oda wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Oda has had enough of the clinch but Seyedi keeps him there for the moment.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Seyedi.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Oda wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
A nice right hand lands inside from Seyedi.
Seyedi with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Seyedi throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Oda lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Seyedi lands an elbow inside that Oda shrugs off.
Seyedi scores a nice knee to the body.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Seyedi creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Oda's defenses.
Oda tries to land a knee to the head but Seyedi blocks with his arms.
Seyedi lands a body punch.
Oda struggles to land a body shot inside as Seyedi controls his hands.

Seyedi escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Oda fails with the takedown
and Seyedi counters with a slapping leg kick.
Seyedi lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Oda has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Seyedi.
Seyedi cracks a nice hook into Oda's ribs.

Seyedi lands a big head kick that sends Oda tumbling to the mat! Seyedi takes a step backwards and waves Oda back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Oda is rocked!


It looks like Nobunaga Oda has been cut.
Seyedi lands a nice shot to the body.
Good exchange - Seyedi coming out on top.
Oh Oda is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Oda circles to his right, straight into a beautiful hook by Seyedi. Oda falls face first into the canvas - great knockout victory for Seyedi!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ali Seyedi!
Ali Seyedi is the new middleweight champion!
Ali Seyedi made sure to give a little speech post fight, saying 'I want my title shot with Brunner, Lets Scrap!'.
