Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rodrigo Belmonte (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Poirier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Belmonte comes to the cage accompanied by Los Lobos - Cancion Del Mariachi. Poirier is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: ACDC - TNT. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Belmonte uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Poirier looks to land a right hand but Belmonte moved out of range.
Poirier scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

Belmonte thows a left - swing and a miss!
Poirier throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Belmonte sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Peter Poirier seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Belmonte with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Belmonte cracks Poirier with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Poirier tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Belmonte pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Poirier is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Rodrigo Belmonte really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that SAVE A FIGHTER logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
