The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Robillard stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Robillard wants it to stay on the feet.

Monroe drives through with a takedown into Robillard's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Robillard is looking to stand up but Monroe isn't so interested in that idea.

Monroe really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Robillard. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Robillard is looking to stand up but Monroe isn't so interested in that idea.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Robillard tries to close the distance and clinch but Monroe swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

and Monroe counters with a crisp one two that drops Robillard! Monroe thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Robillard to his feet! Robillard is in big trouble!

Robillard is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Monroe goes for a counter takedown and lands it with interest - it's knocked his opponent senseless! It looks like Monroe 's shoulder did the damage as the two fighters hit the mat.
