PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brian Metzger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Volg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Metzger comes into the arena with god smack blaring out of the sound system. Alexander Volg will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Volg clinches with his opponent.
Metzger gets underhooks to prevent Volg's takedown attempt.
Volg tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Metzger just stands there and leans against the cage.
Volg tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Metzger's elbow.
Volg keeps control of Metzger as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Volg breaks from the clinch.
Volg tries to close the distance and clinch up but Metzger swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Volg drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Volg with a flurry of punches that miss.

Metzger escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Volg gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Volg throws a strike but Metzger rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Metzger might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Metzger gets to his feet. Volg looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Metzger tries to keep at a distance but Volg has taken the fight into the clinch.

Volg stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Metzger has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Volg manages to get his head free but now Metzger has transitioned to an armbar! Volg grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Metzger! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!

Brian Metzger decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
