Mandela has chosen Free Nelson Mandela as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Miguel Chavez has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Mandela feints and as Chavez raises his hands in defense, Mandela changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Chavez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Chavez seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Miguel Chavez has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Mandela tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Chavez swivels and escapes.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Miguel Chavez.
