The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sparks looks to score with a jab to the body but Mcgillicutty is just out of range.
Mcgillicutty throws a solid leg kick but Sparks takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Mcgillicutty.
Mcgillicutty misses with a straight right.
Mcgillicutty thows a left - swing and a miss!
Mcgillicutty getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
It looks like Zack Sparks has been cut.
Sparks scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Mcgillicutty cracks Sparks with an open hand slap.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sparks throws a series of strikes that have Mcgillicutty backpedaling.
Mcgillicutty misses with a hook
and Sparks counters with a one-two to the body.
Mcgillicutty moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Mcgillicutty lunges at Sparks with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Sparks's hand.
Sparks darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Sparks ducks under a wild hook from Mcgillicutty.
Some wild striking there from Mcgillicutty.
Mcgillicutty takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Sparks thuds a left hand into Mcgillicutty's body.
Mcgillicutty takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Mcgillicutty has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Sparks avoids a kick to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Mcgillicutty takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Mcgillicutty is rocked!
Mcgillicutty loses concentration momentarily and Sparks pounces with a three punch combo! Right, left, right! Mcgillicutty crashes face first to the mat, out cold! Sparks finishes this one with a fantastically precise combo! Great stuff.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Zack Sparks!
