Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Liu Kang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Avlier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Avlier throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Kang sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Avlier clinches up with Kang and pushes him back against the cage.
Kang has Avlier pressed against the cage, preventing Avlier from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Avlier pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Kang scores with a jab.
A cross from Kang lands.

Kang tries to sprawl but Avlier drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Avlier is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Kang is in trouble now - Avlier has advanced to mount!
Avlier looking to control and managing it successfully.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Avlier is landing with some decent strikes but Kang is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Avlier scoring with strikes but Kang is staying in there.
Avlier tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Kang tries to lock up and control but Avlier gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Avlier has hold of Kang's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Kang manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Avlier looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Avlier pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Avlier has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

BOOM! Avlier connects with a massive shot to the dome!

That kick from Kang tenderised Avlier's leg. Avlier is trying to keep his angry face on.

It looks like Liu Kang has been cut.

Avlier shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Steve Avlier has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Kang throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Kang connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Avlier's hands.
Liu Kang is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A looping hook to the body misses from Kang. Avlier does a little dance to reset his feet.

Kang rushes Avlier and presses him up against the cage.

Avlier breaks from the clinch.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Kang enables Avlier to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Kang manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Avlier advances position into side control!

Avlier tries for a kimura but Kang is defending well.

Avlier has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Kang!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kang is working to get back to half guard.

Avlier has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Kang is forced to tap!
