The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Ian Loll and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves ducks under a wild hook from Rukphairee.
Rukphairee defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Alves.
Alves thumps Rukphairee with a low kick.
Rukphairee misses with a straight right.
Rukphairee avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Alves really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Rukphairee keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Alves just misses with a punch to the body.
Rukphairee throws a series of punches but Alves moves out of range.
Alves feints and as Rukphairee raises his hands in defense, Alves changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Alves sitting in guard, not really doing much.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Alves accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Alves wants to pass the guard but Rukphairee is keeping the position.
Rukphairee utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Alves drops back looking for a leg! Rukphairee is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Rukphairee manages to kick Alves off! Alves jumps back into Rukphairee's guard.
Alves slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Rukphairee keeping full guard, as Alves tries to pass.
Alves trying to control the position from guard on top but Rukphairee is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Alves is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Alves tries to free his leg and advance position but Rukphairee is retaining full guard.
Rukphairee is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
We're going to have a standup here because Leandro Alves wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Alves will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Alves shoots for a takedown but Rukphairee saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Leandro Alves. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Alves drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Alves goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Rukphairee rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Alves's guard! Nice work there by Rukphairee!
