And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Alan Fei Hong!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Marco Blurström and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fei Hong is looking to clinch but James is avoiding it.
Fei Hong throws out a loose jab but James uses good head movement to avoid it.
Fei Hong tries to clinch but James moves out of range.
James is trying hard to land a takedown here. Fei Hong sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
James looks for a takedown but Fei Hong sprawls well.
James circles away from the clinch attempt.
Fei Hong avoids the body shot from James.
James tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Fei Hong was well out of range. Poor timing from James.
Fei Hong fails with an attempt to clinch.

Fei Hong fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with James, pushing him back against the cage.
Fei Hong lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
James tries to score a body lock takedown but Fei Hong shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jake James. That's going to take a lot out of him.

James lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Fei Hong's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Fei Hong throws an elbow but it misses.
James tries for a takedown. No joy.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Fei Hong takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Fei Hong lands an elbow inside.
James tries for a takedown but Fei Hong manages to get underhooks.
James takes an elbow to the forehead.

James gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Fei Hong regains guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
James postures up in Fei Hong's guard and throws a big left but Fei Hong blocks it.

Fei Hong tries to land a sweep but no joy.
James stands and throws Fei Hong's legs to the side, diving into side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

James looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
James staying calm.

James is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Fei Hong is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
James throws a strike aimed at the side of Fei Hong's head but Fei Hong avoids it well.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

James is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Fei Hong has escaped the position, nice work there.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Fei Hong can do anything to dispel that myth.
James throwing strikes but missing, from side control.

James working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.

Fei Hong is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on James's leg. Oh but that's left an opportunity for James! He's got an arm triangle... it looks tight! He's rotating and Fei Hong has tapped! This one is allllll over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Jake James!
A less than humble Jake James misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
