Hanson comes to the cage accompanied by Eminem-Stay Wide Awake. Johannes Hanson had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mccarry missing with a left hand there. Hanson was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Mccarry throws a lazy right hand but Hanson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Hanson misses with a wild body shot.
Mccarry misses with a looping left.
Hanson uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Mccarry.
Hanson fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Mccarry dodges the punch combination from Hanson.
Hanson shoots for a takedown but Mccarry saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Hanson drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Mccarry throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Hanson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mccarry tries to avoid it but Hanson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mccarry to the ground. Mccarry escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Mccarry connects with a good right hand that stumbles Hanson. Hanson circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Hanson shoots in looking for a takedown. Mccarry tries to sprawl out of it but Hanson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mccarry manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Hanson's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Hanson is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Hanson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mccarry tries to avoid it but Hanson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mccarry to the ground. Mccarry escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Mccarry might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hanson.

Mccarry drops Hanson with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Hanson looks back up at him and smiles so Mccarry waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Oh Hanson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

It looks like Johannes Hanson has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hanson closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Mccarry quickly recovers to half guard.
Hanson seems to have got his legs back now.
Mccarry tries to roll over but Hanson keeps him under control.
Hanson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Mccarry has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hanson is working away from the top position though.
Hanson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mccarry does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Mccarry lands a big uppercut and Hanson crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Hanson looks OK. Mccarry waves Hanson back to his feet!
