Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tommy Mcgarry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Zapp Brannigan!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Paul Gruel and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brannigan is trying hard to land a takedown here. Mcgarry sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Mcgarry shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Mcgarry showed some decent athleticism there.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Mcgarry passes into side control, despite Brannigan's attempt to control the position.
Brannigan can't do much from the bottom here.
Brannigan is trying to work for a sweep but Mcgarry has mounted him!
Brannigan is looking to improve his position but Mcgarry isn't that keen on the idea.

Brannigan is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Mcgarry jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Brannigan manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Brannigan tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Mcgarry presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Brannigan wants to hold on but Mcgarry pushes him away.

Brannigan is trying to reverse the position but instead Mcgarry has taken his back - oops!
Brannigan trying to control but not successfully.
Brannigan might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Mcgarry kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Brannigan is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

Brannigan rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Brannigan looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Mcgarry pushes past his half guard into mount!

Mcgarry gets to mount! Brannigan was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Brannigan tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Mcgarry swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Brannigan is now in Mcgarry's guard. A big mistake from Mcgarry there, giving up the dominant position!

Brannigan avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Tommy Mcgarry will probably get the nod.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Mcgarry is defended easily by Brannigan.

Brannigan scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Brannigan swings around for an armbar but Mcgarry sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Brannigan's guard.

Brannigan has his foot on Mcgarry's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mcgarry works his way back into a safe position though.
Brannigan controls Mcgarry momentarily but Mcgarry frees himself.

Mcgarry drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mcgarry jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Brannigan working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mcgarry doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mcgarry manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Mcgarry works a leg free and moves into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mcgarry is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Brannigan manages to get to full guard.

Brannigan looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Mcgarry wants to pass the guard but Brannigan is keeping the position.
Mcgarry slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Mcgarry tries to advance to mount but can't.

Brannigan is trying to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Brannigan looking for a sweep but Mcgarry has passed into full mount! Oh no!

Mcgarry looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Mcgarry prevents Brannigan from getting the reversal.

Brannigan has given up his back here.

Mcgarry working for a choke but Brannigan is defending well.

Mcgarry gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Brannigan trying to control but Mcgarry is working from the bottom.
Brannigan is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Brannigan is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Mcgarry is just riding it out for now. Brannigan eventually gives up the hold.

Brannigan is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Mcgarry makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Mcgarry.
Brannigan sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Mcgarry's guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Brannigan is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Brannigan is keen to just control but Mcgarry is a slippery customer.
Brannigan is just content to waste time from the top position. Mcgarry takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Brannigan pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Mcgarry is keeping the position for now.

Mcgarry escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Brannigan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Mcgarry is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Mcgarry keeping moving, preventing Brannigan from controlling successfully.
Brannigan is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Tommy Mcgarry overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Mcgarry looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Brannigan trying to control but Mcgarry is working from the bottom.
Zapp Brannigan has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Zapp Brannigan wasn't active enough on the ground.
Mcgarry shoots and misses

and Brannigan counters with a shoot takedown. Mcgarry fights it but they end up in guard.

Mcgarry utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Zapp Brannigan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Mcgarry has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
