Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jacque Schtrappe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Apollo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Schtrappe comes to the cage accompanied by Nitzer Ebb - Violent Playground. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Jacque Schtrappe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Ryan Apollo!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Eliza Hachem and John Mangel.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Apollo is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Apollo misses with a body shot.
Apollo thumps Schtrappe with a low kick.
Schtrappe scores with a sloppy right hand. Apollo should have avoided that one.

It looks like Ryan Apollo has been cut.
A good leg kick by Apollo.
Ryan Apollo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Schtrappe loads up on a big right hand but Apollo slips the punch.
Apollo drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

and Schtrappe counters with a nice body shot.
Schtrappe fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Apollo.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Schtrappe walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Apollo checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Apollo lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Apollo tries to move into range but Schtrappe moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Schtrappe throws a wild body kick that Apollo sees coming a mile off.

Apollo closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Apollo throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Schtrappe blocks it with crossed arms.

Schtrappe breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Jacque Schtrappe is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Apollo pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Apollo keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Apollo turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Apollo closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Schtrappe did well to prevent Apollo getting side control.
Apollo is keen to just control but Schtrappe is a slippery customer.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Ryan Apollo hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Apollo looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Apollo is taking a breather. Schtrappe says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Schtrappe is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Apollo's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Apollo's back!
Apollo tries to escape but Schtrappe has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Schtrappe's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

A close round but Ryan Apollo will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Schtrappe.
Apollo misses with a body shot.
Schtrappe throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Apollo sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Apollo uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Schtrappe.
Schtrappe wants to slow Apollo down by chopping away at his legs.
Jab, jab by Schtrappe - just one landing.
Apollo throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Apollo tries to close the distance and clinch but Schtrappe swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
A nice leg kick lands there from Schtrappe.

Schtrappe avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Apollo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Apollo gets tackled into the cage by Schtrappe. Schtrappe maintains the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Schtrappe's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Apollo tries a body shot but Schtrappe blocks it.
Schtrappe lands a body punch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Apollo with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Schtrappe lands an uppercut.
Schtrappe tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Apollo drops down looking for an ankle pick but Schtrappe pulls his leg out and moves away.
Jacque Schtrappe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ryan Apollo.

Schtrappe swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Apollo closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Schtrappe tries to improve position but can't.
Schtrappe wants to control but Apollo postures up.
Apollo tries to move to mount but Schtrappe blocks the move with his legs.

Apollo is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Schtrappe has escaped the position, nice work there.

Schtrappe regains half guard.
Apollo is trying to control the action in half guard but Schtrappe is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Apollo wants to free his trapped foot but Schtrappe is holding on for dear life with his legs.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Apollo seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Schtrappe is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
