PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Degen Gambler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucas Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Metallica - The Unforgiven II . Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Lucas Silva !
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Chris Downing and Frank Dennis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Gambler misses with a body shot.
Gambler throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Silva throws a hook to the side of Gambler's head but Gambler sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Gambler moves out of range as Silva throws a body kick.
Lucas Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gambler cracks Silva with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

It looks like Lucas Silva has been cut.
Silva throws a leg kick
and Gambler counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Gambler looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Gambler throws a series of punches but Silva avoids them all with ease.
Silva displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Gambler throws out the jab.
Silva tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Gambler was well out of range. Poor timing from Silva .
Silva jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Gambler scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

Gambler checks the leg kick nicely there.

Gambler fails with a takedown attempt.
Silva tries to clinch up but Gambler circles away and keeps his distance.
Silva misses with a two punch combination.
Silva changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gambler tries to avoid it but Silva manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gambler to the ground. Gambler escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Gambler throws the left hand but Silva avoids the punch easily.
Silva shoots in and drives through. Gambler sprawls well.
Degen Gambler has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lucas Silva .
Silva thows a body shot but no joy.
Silva scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Gambler lands with a right hand.
Silva shoots for a takedown but Gambler saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Silva closes the distance and clinches up with Gambler, looking for a takedown. Silva pushes Gambler against the cage but Gambler circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Silva tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Gambler paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Gambler misses with a hook to the body
and Silva counters with a good low kick that Gambler was not able to check.
Silva lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Silva misses with a takedown
and Gambler connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Gambler connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Silva 's hands.
A slapping body kick lands there for Gambler.
Gambler lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Silva circles away quickly and effectively.
Silva dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Silva lands a nice shot that snaps Gambler's head back.
Silva throws a solid leg kick but Gambler takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Silva .
Gambler throws a jab when Silva was well out of range.

Gambler throws the kick towards the body but Silva avoids it.
Silva looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Gambler is fending him off so far but Silva persists. Nope, Gambler circles away and we're back to standing.
Silva takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Silva shoots in looking for a takedown. Gambler tries to sprawl out of it but Silva keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Gambler manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Silva misses with the combination.
A jab from Gambler does it's job there.
Gambler misses with a low kick.
Gambler is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
A looping hook to the body misses from Silva . Gambler does a little dance to reset his feet.
Gambler thows a body shot but no joy.
Gambler throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Gambler shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Silva napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Silva prevents Gambler from moving into mount.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Silva is looking to regain half guard here but Gambler keeps moving and retains side control.

Silva is trying to improve his position.
Silva takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Gambler is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Silva has escaped the position, nice work there.
Gambler wants to control for a moment but Silva uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Gambler gets caught flat footed, as Silva shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Silva throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Silva stands up over Gambler, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Silva throws a strike but Gambler rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Silva controls Gambler momentarily but Gambler frees himself.
Gambler working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Silva can't keep his opponent in guard - Gambler advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Silva tries to get to full guard but Gambler has control of the leg.
Gambler is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Silva !
Gambler tries to control but Silva wriggling away.
Poor strikes thrown by Gambler there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Silva is squirming around, avoiding Gambler's attempts to control the action.

Degen Gambler overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Gambler lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Gambler is working for a guillotine from mount but Silva frees his head quite easily.

Gambler is landing with some decent strikes but Silva is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Lucas Silva 's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Lucas Silva 's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
