The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kato has taken the fight to the clinch.

Sakuraba is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Kato can't fight it off and eventually Sakuraba manages to take the fight to the floor. Kato looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Sakuraba trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Sakuraba drops back looking for a leg! Kato is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kato manages to kick Sakuraba off! Sakuraba jumps back into Kato's guard.

Kato has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Sakuraba doesn't defend quickly enough and Kato has managed to lock this one up! Can Sakuraba escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Kato on a fantastic submission victory.
