PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nafes Alhangum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nikita Pietroff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pietroff has chosen Russian National Anthem as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pietroff swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Pietroff tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Alhangum manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Alhangum throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Pietroff.

Pietroff scores with a head kick. Alhangum tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

It looks like Nafes Alhangum has been cut.

Pietroff tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Pietroff throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Good leg kick by Alhangum there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Pietroff throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Alhangum.

That kick from Alhangum tenderised Pietroff's leg. Pietroff is trying to keep his angry face on.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Pietroff's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Alhangum connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Pietroff scrambles back to his feet.

Pietroff shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Alhangum but Alhangum pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Nafes Alhangum seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Pietroff stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Alhangum.
Alhangum lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Pietroff backs up against the cage.
Alhangum lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

That's time! Alhangum's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Ouch! a nice leg kick from Alhangum, right into the meat.
Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Pietroff might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Alhangum has got the better of the exchanges.
A combination from Alhangum does no damage.
Alhangum moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Alhangum connects with an inside leg kick.
Pietroff shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Pietroff takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Pietroff fails with a takedown attempt.
Pietroff misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Pietroff is trying desperately to land a takedown but Alhangum is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Pietroff.

Alhangum is looking to slow Pietroff down with leg kicks.
Nafes Alhangum is winning the standup battle so far.
Alhangum tries to land a leg kick but Pietroff saw it coming and moves away.
A chopping leg kick lands by Alhangum.
Pietroff is trying hard to land a takedown here. Alhangum sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Pietroff has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Alhangum, as that shot connected.
Pietroff throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Alhangum.
Alhangum works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
A jab lands there for Alhangum.
Pietroff's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Pietroff tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Alhangum bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Pietroff's head backwards.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Alhangum.
Pietroff is still on wobbly legs! Can Alhangum finish him?
Alhangum's jab looks to have found its range, popping Pietroff under the eye.
Alhangum cracks Pietroff with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Pietroff tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Alhangum pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Pietroff is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nafes Alhangum!
Nafes Alhangum was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
